Our story

Who we are

Established in 1959, the Tanzania Society for the Blind is committed to promoting the dignity, independence, and inclusion of blind and visually impaired people in Tanzania.

Through education, eye care, rehabilitation, and community engagement, TSB works to create opportunities that help individuals achieve their full potential.

TSB is based in Dar es Salaam. We believe that blindness and visual impairment should never limit a person's right to learn, to work, and to take part fully in the life of their community.

To improve the quality of life of blind and visually impaired people in Tanzania by promoting access to quality education, eye care, rehabilitation, essential support services, and opportunities for independent and dignified living.
